Stairs

This image is of a sketchup model of a set of stairs I plan to put in my first section sketchup model. The proportion on that model need to be adjusted and a first floor created so I have just put my stair model here to show what they would look like.

Rosalie Gascoigne

Rosalie Gascoigne artwork All that Jazz was created in 1989 and exhibited in November of the same year at the Rosalie Oxley9 gallery in Sydney. It is 131cm X 100cm and made out of sawn and split wooden soft drink cans that are laid flat and arranged on a piece of plywood, in a way that creates a pattern and jumbles up the words, this is consistent in structure with the modernist grid, however this was not done on purpose, the random mix of the cut up colours and text gives the artwork a unique feel. In her early work she used similar crates, as whole crates, to place items in as part of her artwork.

Fiona Hall

Theses three pieces of art work are part of Fiona Hall’s collection Paradesis terrestris made in 1989-1990, Hall produced three series with similar form and style the latter 2 were produced in the 1990’s. They are made using recycled sardine cans, the top part is a type of vegetation formed out of filigreed tin which is attached to the recycled sardine can below. The lid of the sardine can is rolled back to expose and embossed piece of tin showing either a part of human anatomy or a scene of an erotic play. Through placing the plant/vegetation above the human body parts Hall is making a comment on the interaction between humans and plants.

This image was take during my gap year, whilst on mission in Fiji. To me it is beautiful as I am reminded of the joy of simple things, of the joy the children in the orphanage had in simply having someone close to their age to play with and talk with, and how small things that we take for granted, like balloons, were such big things for them and gave them so much enjoyment.

This image is of New College, aestheically speaking I would not necessarily describe it as great architecture, however, the way that it has been designed is conducive to building community and relationships and I believe that this makes it an example of great architecture. It was designed by Robert Woodward and built in 1969.

This image is of my MDP (not the best image i know but the only one i had access to in the time), which is a bronze tree used to store and display jewellery. It was made out of wax and then cast in bronze, it is mounted on a rotating base made out of Australian Red Cedar. I was inspired to use a tree form for my MDP while walking through a beech forest on a family holiday in New Zealand.
