Fiona Hall

Theses three pieces of art work are part of Fiona Hall’s collection Paradesis terrestris made in 1989-1990, Hall produced three series with similar form and style the latter 2 were produced in the 1990’s. They are made using recycled sardine cans, the top part is a type of vegetation formed out of filigreed tin which is attached to the recycled sardine can below. The lid of the sardine can is rolled back to expose and embossed piece of tin showing either a part of human anatomy or a scene of an erotic play. Through placing the plant/vegetation above the human body parts Hall is making a comment on the interaction between humans and plants.
