Developed UT Environment

The images above show my completed UT environment. The space behind the wall is designed for Keith Campbell, the tunnel, stairs, ramp and intersecting spaces have been used to represent his wanting to “know how everything works” and the sense of searching associated with this, there are also areas where there is a space to for the user to see what is underneath the floor and better understand how it works. The textures have been used to highlight these areas of flooring, also to draw attention to features such as the boxes that are designed to be intriguing and add intricateness to the space to create a sense of the intricate knowledge you need “to know how everything works”.

The meeting place has been simply designed to allow the two scientist to meet and let there relationship define the space, it does however have quite dramatic lighting and texturing to represent the intensity of ideas combining in the space.

The space hanging out from the ramp is designed for Alfred Noble, different sized and shaped spaces and lighting have been used to create similarities and differences, which Noble believed “are the basis of all human knowledge”. The ramp is long and thin to contrast the tall enclosed space of the laboratory, bright colored lighting has also been used to contrast the black and white of the materials.
